The small craft went down on Saturday in Mastic and one person died.

MASTIC - Investigators may soon have answers into this past weekend’s deadly glider crash in Mastic.

The small aircraft went down Saturday shortly after taking off from Brookhaven’s Calabro Airport, according to officials.

Vincent Petruso, 74, of East Moriches, was killed in the crash.

The National Transportation Safety Board tells Newsday, a preliminary report on the tragedy should be out within 10 days.
