The National Rifle Association (NRA) is standing by its call to have armed guards positioned in U.S. schools in the wake of the Newtown massacre.

Appearing on NBC's 'Meet the Press,' Wayne LaPierre, executive VP and CEO of the NRA, said any new efforts by Congress to regulate guns or ammunition would not prevent mass shootings.
