COMMACK - A runway car with children inside was stopped before it could roll onto a busy Commack road.

The incident happened last month at a Getty gas station.

The children had been left in the car with the vehicle running when the car began to roll. The children's mother, and North Babylon resident David Cincotta, sprinted into action to stop the runaway car.

The mother was knocked to the ground by the car door, but Cincotta managed to get inside the car and stop the vehicle just seconds before it would have rolled onto a busy Commack Road.

All three girls are OK.
