EAST ROCKAWAY - A playground honoring one of the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting was unveiled today in East Rockaway.

Noah Pozner, 6, was one of the 26 victims of the shooting in Newtown in Dec. 2012. His parents say the playground represents the beach, where Noah spent time exploring and gathering shells.

The structure also features Noah’s name and his drawings.

The playground was completed by the Sandy Ground Project through donations. The group has set out to build playgrounds to honor each of the 26 Sandy Hook victims in areas that were devastated by Superstorm Sandy.
