MILLER PLACE - Two Miller Place schools are not providing lunches for students for at least another two months, forcing parents and local delis to pitch in.
The district recently called parents to say that Laddie Decker Sound Beach School and Andrew Muller Primary School would not be providing lunches until the district found a new lunch provider.
Superintendent Marianne Higuera said in a statement, "The district is making this change in order to provide students with healthier and better tasting food options."

She would not discuss with News 12 why the change is taking so long.
Miller Place schools say lunches for subsidized students will continue to be free or at a reduced cost. They insist any deli personnel providing lunches at the schools are monitored at all times.
