LOS ANGELES - The Academy Awards was a night of glitz, glamour and a little bit of controversy.

Actor Sacha Baron Cohen caused a scene on the red carpet, dressing up as the character from his upcoming film "The Dictator." The actor carried an urn that he claimed to be filled with the ashes of Kim Jong Il. The commotion came when Cohen poured ashes all over Ryan Seacrest. Security forced Cohen and his entourage off the carpet.

Cohen had initially been banned from appearing as the fictional Middle Eastern ruler before the Academy agreed to allow him to walk the carpet as his alter ego.

JLo's dress was also a big topic of conversation on Twitter after she took the stage as a presenter.

Celebrities and people at home wondered if the dress revealed a little too much.

When the show was over, some of the biggest stars headed to Elton John's Oscar party. An estimated 900 people attended the annual event to raise funds for HIV-AIDS prevention and research.
