WOODBURY - Parents on Long Island saw tighter security in the wake of the Connecticut massacre.

Visitors in many of the districts must show photo identification and go through security.

News 12 Long Island has learned that many districts are discussing security measures across the area.

Parents told News 12 that they were hesitant to bring their kids to school today, but feel confident in the measures they have in place. 

Some districts have opted to have assemblies and counselors on hand to help the children cope with the tragedy.
