MELVILLE - Newsday's Project Prom, a yearly search for a lucky Long Island teen to win a free prom dress, is underway.

The winner is chosen by Newsday. They are then treated by Newsday to try on dresses for their prom. After narrowing down the three best choices, Newsday readers get to vote on their favorite for the winner to wear on prom night!

In 2014, Katherine Grandazza tried on some 60 dresses while shopping for her dresses. The slinky blue number, above, from Sugar Plum in Garden City looked great, but didn't make the final cut.

All are invited to submit either themsevles or nominate someone. Click here for more information.
