WOODBURY - Results from a new poll show that many Long Island residents are not happy about President Barack Obama’s new health law.

According to a News 12 Long Island/Hofstra University poll, 47 percent of those asked about the Affordable Care Act said they disapproved of the new law compared with 39 percent who are in favor of it.

Long Islanders were also asked what, if any, impact the Affordable Care Act will have on them. A total of 41 percent of respondents said it would not affect them, 37 percent said it would hurt them and 17 percent said it would help.

Certain provisions of the Affordable Care Act went into effect this year. Other parts will continue to roll out until 2022.
