News 12/Hofstra Poll: 39% of Long Islanders against longer school days & years
WOODBURY - Long Islanders are split on Gov. Andrew Cuomo's proposal to lengthen school days, years or both.
A News 12/Hofstra poll reveals that 12 percent of Long Islanders surveyed say they support Cuomo's proposal for longer school days, while 16 percent support extending the school year.
Data shows 27 percent support both ideas, but 39 percent say they're not behind either.

Cuomo has said that any district that opts into the plan would be completely financially covered for the extension.
