New surveillance video released in Farmingville CVS robbery

FARMINGVILLE - Police today released new surveillance video of last Sunday's CVS pharmacy robbery on Horseblock Road in Farmingville.

Investigators say the man in the video handed an employee a note and demanded prescription drugs and cash. The video shows the suspect made no effort to hide his face.

Police believe the suspect fled the scene in a newer model, light-colored, pickup truck.

The incident happened only 2 miles from the Medford pharmacy where four people were shot a week before.

No one was hurt in the CVS robbery, but hearing about the incident put some local residents on high alert.

"From now on, I won't let my wife pick up a prescription, I won't let my kids pick up a prescription," says Anthony Salamone, of Farmingville.

Suffolk Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-220-TIPS.
