WOODBURY - Competitors who are facing off in this year's Battle on the Bay powerboat race will have to follow some new rules, according to Newsday. The U.S. Coast Guard is carving up three sections in the water near Smith Point Park this year, Newsday says. One section will be for competing boats and safety crews, another will be a spectator viewing area and the third will be a "no entry" area where boating is prohibited.The regulations will be in effect from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. both days of the event, Aug. 25-26.
