BELLPORT - According to recently published reports, former football coach and current Bellport School Superintendent Joseph Cipp was likely either involved in changing an athlete's grades, or aware of it.

Cipp has been accused of trying to get former player Ryan Sloan a scholarship by boosting his grades. The superintendent, however, maintains that he did nothing wrong.

Cipp has issued a statement saying he was "troubled by the unauthorized release of private information pertaining to district staff and students."
