WOODBURY - A number of former Bernie Madoff employees are facing new charges today in connection with the massive Ponzi scheme constructed by Madoff.

Five people are facing new charges including Madoff's former secretary, Annette Bongiorno, who is from Manhasset. Bongiorno worked for Madoff for 40 years.

Bernie Madoff is currently serving a 150-year prison sentence for running the Ponzi scheme that swindled nearly $20 billion from investors.

The new charges allege that the Ponzi scheme actually dated back as far as the 1970s.
