CENTRAL ISLIP - The Nesconset mother of two who pleaded guilty last August to selling oxycodone has been sentenced to 26 months in federal prison.

Joanne Connolly admitted selling the prescription drug out of her home and having a prescription drug problem of her own. She was arrested after trying to sell Roxicodone to an undercover agent at Dunkin' Donuts in Smithtown.

Federal prosecutors called her a "major player" in the drug business, an accusation her attorney denies.

At the sentencing, Connolly said, "I will work to be the wife and mother I once promised to be".
