MANHASSET - Neighbors who live near the Apple Store in Manhasset are pushing back against the gadget retailer's plan to expand its parking lot. More than 300 residents have signed a petition opposing the plan, which would require the North Hempstead Town Council to rezone a parcel of residential property.Residents say they've been fighting against rezoning the property for years. They say expanding the parking lot will bring safety, noise and traffic issues to the area. The president of the Council of Greater Manhasset Civic Association argues that the expansion would provide better traffic circulation and says it's really the only option. A zoning meeting was held tonight.
