BETHPAGE - LIPA has stepped aside to let National Grid take charge of power recovery efforts for the storm, but both believe it will take a team effort to restore any affected service.
National Grid officials say up to 100,000 customers could lose power from the storm. Officials vowed not to repeat the failures that followed Superstorm Sandy, saying they already have added personnel in place to help restore power.
Officials with National Grid say customers will see faster power restoration this time around.
LIPA says it will help oversee operations and coordinate communications.
