NEWTOWN, Conn. -  There were moments of silence around the country this morning to honor the victims of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

A Newtown, Conn. church bell rang 26 times, starting at 9:30 a.m. This was about the time gunman Adam Lanza unleashed bullets upon the quiet community, investigators say.

Lanza killed 26 people at the school, including 20 children, then turned the gun on himself.

Grieving families held funerals today for 6-year-olds Olivia Engel, Madeleine Hsu and Dylan Hockley.

School psychologist Mary Sherlach and therapist Rachel D'Avino were also laid to rest.
