Nassau to crack down on drunken drivers

Police say it's one of the deadliest nights of the year to be on the roads. (12/27/12)

MINEOLA - Nassau police are planning to crack down on drunken drivers on one of the most dangerous nights to be on the roads, New Year's Eve.

County Executive Ed Mangano today announced increased patrols for the holiday weekend. He says there will also be additional DWI checkpoints around the county.

All-Island taxi is offering free rides home anywhere within Nassau County for New Year's. It's the 15th year that the company is running its free ride program.
