WOODBURY - A Nassau County teenager received a sentence of up to four years behind bars for causing a crash that killed her friend last year. According to Newsday, 19-year-old Daritza Lopez, of Uniondale, admitted to driving drunk when she lost control of her car in West Hempstead and struck Herica Contreras. The victim, a mother of two, was inside a building when Lopez slammed into it. Lopez pleaded guilty to several charges back in March, including manslaughter and drunken driving.
