WOODBURY - Nassau County today began booting and towing cars to collect on unpaid traffic tickets.

The county will put a boot on any car that has three or more unpaid parking or red light tickets. Car owners will then have to pay $166 to have the boot removed, in addition to the original cost of the outstanding tickets.

Nassau officials say drivers owe them $94 million in unpaid tickets from the past 20 years.
