MANHASSET - Nassau police are stepping up patrols on the roads this holiday weekend and keeping an eye out for drunken drivers.

Sgt. Keith Boyle says they will be looking for speeding, weaving, failing to signal and driving too fast or too slow.

Nassau County police say there were nine DWI arrests made Thursday night as a result of the extra patrols. Another 14 DWI arrests were made by regular patrols.

They say there will also be predetermined checkpoints throughout the county.

The extra patrols will be on Nassau roadways for the entire summer.
