WOODBURY - A Point Lookout couple is suing the Nassau County Police Department after officers shot and killed their son last year, according to Newsday. The Doerbeckers accuse police of using excessive force in the shooting of their son. Police claim 23-year-old Kurt Doerbecker lunged at them with a 12-inch knife during an incident at the family's home back in August 2011.Officer shoots, kills alleged burglary suspect in Point Lookout
