Nassau legislator apologizes for worker's racist remark

WESTBURY - Nassau Legislator John Ciotti (R-Elmont) apologized tonight for a racist remark allegedly made by a campaign worker.A video that recently surfaced depicts a volunteer worker making a hurtful statement to the sister of Ciotti's opponent, Carrie Solages.At a voters event this evening, Ciotti and Solages sat side-by-side. When Ciotti was given the opportunity to speak, he apologized on behalf of his campaign and Solages said she accepted.Ciotti says he has fired the worker, Vincent Prisco, from his campaign. He says he's seeking to have Prisco fired from his day job as a public sanitation worker.
