WOODBURY - The clock is ticking for Nassau homeowners who want to challenge their tax assessment.

Tomorrow is the deadline for grievances to be filed, but some Nassau residents say they were not given enough time to file.

According to the County Assessment Department, on Jan. 3, all tax assessments were posted online and the letters typically go out at the same time. However, they say this year most of the county's 400,000 property owners didn't receive their letters until the end of January. Another 2,000 didn't receive theirs until this month because of printing issues.
