UNIONDALE - Residents tell News 12 Long Island they are satisfied with the plans to redevelopment for Nassau Coliseum.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano announced Thursday that Forest City Ratner, the group that developed the Barclays Center, will perform a massive makeover on the aging arena. Construction is expected to take up to two years. The announcement puts an end to years of debate over the future of the Coliseum.

People say it's not so much the design they find appealing, but rather the fact that jobs will return to the county. Local store owners say they also look forward to the influx of consumers.

Not all are on board, however. Some say they fear even more traffic in the area, while others are upset the Islanders won't be playing there on a permanent basis.
