Nassau County officials are scrapping plans to build a lab in Eisenhower Park.

The $2.5 million, 5,300 square-foot lab, was going to test the strength of asphalt, steel and other materials used in county buildings.

However, there were complaints from lawmakers because the building wasn't going to be available for the park's use.
