NIFA, county officials and union leaders are trying to hammer out a deal to end the wage freeze for Nassau workers.

On Monday, the NIFA board voted to extend the wage freeze but also left open the possibility of lifting it if the unions accepted concessions in their new contracts. On Wednesday night, it appeared a tentative agreement was in place between the unions and the county.
