MTA reviews LIRR union counteroffer amid looming strike
The MTA is looking at a new counteroffer from the Long Island Rail Road unions.
The unions and the MTA met for about five hours yesterday in Manhattan.
With no deal still in place, the possible LIRR strike is nine days away.
However, it looks like there has been some progress after MTA Chairman Thomas Prendergast met with negotiators at the bargaining session.
