MTA: No plans for new fare hikes in 2012

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it does not have plans to raise fares any time soon, but that doesn't mean the cost to commute won't

WOODBURY - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it does not have plans to raise fares any time soon, but that doesn't mean the cost to commute won't go up.

According to Newsday, the MTA's 2012 budget does not include any fare hikes. Agency officials say they have no plans for additional increases beyond the ones they've already announced.

However, the agency said last month it did expect to raise fares and tolls in 2013 and 2015. Share on Facebook Tweet on Twitter
