WOODBURY - The New York City Council held hearings today to examine the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (MTA) performance during the post-Christmas blizzard.City Council President Christine Quinn called the agency's perceived failures during the storm "beyond shocking."Officials noted that hundreds of buses got stuck in the snow and a subway train was left stranded for more than seven hours with passengers aboard. The MTA has admitted that there was a breakdown in communication. Transportation officials also have said they weren't aware of a blizzard forecast until it was too late for a proper response. The City Council has already questioned city officials about their performance during the snowstorm.
