WESTBURY - Halloween is two weeks away. And while some already bought their kids’ costumes weeks ago, others scrambling to find a good one should look no further. News 12’s Elisa DiStefano and Elizabeth Hashagen teamed up with Newsday’s kids editor Valerie Kellog to find out what’s hot for this Halloween.

“The hot costumes all have to do with movies and TV shows,” says Kellog.

A top choice is the Minions from “Despicable Me 2.” Another popular costume is Dusty Crophopper from Disney’s film “Planes.”

Making a comeback this year is Ariel from “The Little Mermaid,” thanks in part to the re-release of the movie in 3-D.

Superheroes are always in style.  Iron Man and Superman are pretty popular for kids, and adults alike. And of course, if you’re looking for something a little scary or bloody, why not dress up as a zombie?
