FREEPORT - A Good Samaritan returned a cat-napped kitten to a Freeport animal shelter this afternoon.

Jelly Bean, a 10-week-old kitten was taken from her cage at the Bobbi and The Strays animal shelter yesterday afternoon.

Workers at the shelter believed that three teens caught on a surveillance camera yesterday took the cat.

Volunteer Elaine MacCaw told News 12 Long Island that the kids in the video got nervous after seeing themselves on the news and gave the kitten to a friend.

The friend's parent allegedly saw the story on News 12 Long Island and returned the animal.

The shelter does not plan to press charges, but says it hopes the kids have learned their lesson.
