FARMINGDALE - While many Long Islanders feel like they've been spoiled by an unusually mild winter, some local businesses owners are hoping and praying for snow to hit. Elizabeth Mignone, of Farmingdale, owns a snow removal company. She says her plows have been mostly parked this season and it's bad for business. "Even a little bit of ice would be good, we could go out sanding," she says. "It's our livelihood." The manager of the Ski Stop in Plainview says sales of their outerwear have taken a big hit this season. He says they've been offering several discounts in an effort to move their products.
