CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Democratic National Convention got under way this evening in Charlotte, N.C.

There are a few big names slated to kick off the convention. First lady Michelle Obama spoke tonight and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro delivered the keynote address.

President Obama will accept his party's nomination for a second term on Thursday, before the convention wraps up.
