WOODBURY - Police say they've arrested the leaders of a major Suffolk drug ring that trafficked cocaine and marijuana throughout the county.

Suffolk District Attorney Tom Spota says Michael Meurer ran a large-scale drug trafficking organization out of his home and supplied large amounts of drugs to dealers all over the county. Meurer was allegedly getting the drugs from John Gonzalez, of Franklin Square.

Prosecutors say the drugs would come into Meurer's Miller Place house, which he dubbed "the office." Then, the drugs were allegedly sold by 10 different people, bringing in about $2,000 per day.

In total, 12 people were arrested in connection with the alleged drug ring, and many were arraigned today in Riverhead.

Prosecutors say the arrests were the culmination of a four-year-investigation and court-authorized wiretaps.
