HICKSVILLE - Mice were spotted over the weekend at the McDonald's inside the Broadway Mall in Hicksville.

A Hempstead couple was in the mall for a date night when they saw the mice running around the McDonald's in the food court.

Cellphone video captured by Tarran Carter appears to show the mice scurrying about in the restaurant's kitchen.

Carter says she is mostly concerned about the health of children and their families who frequent the fast-food chain. She says that since the mice were in McDonald's, the animals could be elsewhere in the mall.

When News 12 called McDonald's to ask about the video, they said they were aware of it. The restaurant's director of operations said in a statement that they have monthly pest control inspections. The statement also says that "the Broadway Mall, where this restaurant is located, is currently under construction and mall management has been alerted to the fact that the construction is negatively impacting business operations."
