KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - Sunday is Opening Day for Major League Baseball, and the Mets are taking on a familiar foe.

The Amazin's will open their season against the reigning World Series champions, the Kansas City Royals.

The Mets battled the Royals in the 2015 Fall Classic but ultimately lost the series in five games.

The matchup is the first Opening Day rematch of a World Series in major league history.
