QUEENS - Citi Field is abuzz with excitement today as Mets fans from Long Island are flocking to the ball park for their team's home opener against the Washington Nationals.

The Mets, 3-3 since the beginning of the season, had a winning record at home last year, and fans are optimistic.

"I'm very excited, so hopeful," says Andrew Perron, of Bellport. "I like the way that some of the veterans have come back."

R.A. Dickey will be on the mound for the Mets today. The game against the Nationals is scheduled to start at 4:10 p.m.
