MERRICK - Five people were arrested Tuesday during a drug raid in Merrick.

Investigators say they received multiple complaints about drug activity at 1402 Merrick Ave.

They say they recovered a loaded handgun, 41 grams of raw heroin and marijuana inside the home.

Among those arrested were Richard Reid, 30; Sterling Simonee, 20; Shaina Thompson, 20; and Constance Buonauro, 48. All were residents of the home. A 3-year-old child was at the residence at the time of the raid.  

The fifth person arrested was Christina Kaempf, 34, who was arrested after leaving the premises. Police say she was in possession of heroin.

Authorities say the raid was conducted in close proximity to a day care facility.
