PLUM ISLAND - A meeting will be held Monday on the future of Plum Island.

The government is moving its animal disease testing facility from the 840-acre island off North Fork's Orient Point to a location in Kansas.

Some environmental groups are worried about over-development of Plum Island when it stops being an animal research center.
