LAKE SUCCESS - Two marijuana dispensaries finally opened their doors on Long Island Friday to patients in need of treatment.

The Bloomfield Patient Resource Center in Lake Success and Columbia Care NY in Riverhead are open for those who have a New York State Medical Marijuana ID card and a recommendation from a program-approved doctor.

Erin Pagano, of Patchogue, is a mother of five children, one of which suffers from seizures. She is using a form of medical cannabis, hemp oil, to treat her 6-year-old daughter Beyla.

Pagano called the treatment a "Godsend," saying that her daughter is able to attend school seizure-free.

Others that are taking advantage of medical marijuana treatments include cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson's, ALS and MS patients.

New York law allows marijuana to be sold only as oil, capsules or vapor cartridges.
