THE BRONX - The man mauled by a tiger at the Bronx Zoo told investigators he leaped off the monorail and into the tiger exhibit because he wanted to be "one" with the tiger.

Chopper 12 was over the zoo's tiger cage after it happened Friday afternoon. The 400-pound cat bit David Villalobos, 25, in the back but he is expected to be OK.

Villalobos is charged with trespassing. Then tiger will be allowed back on display, but there is no word when.
