EAST MEADOW - A Marine from Garden City was sentenced to one year behind bars today for a deadly DWI crash in 2008.
James Farr, 34, had been convicted on DWI and criminally negligent homicide charges. He was driving drunk when he struck and killed Thomas and Joseph Ochiogross as they crossed Hempstead Turnpike.
Officials say that because of time already served, Farr will only serve another six and a half months in prison.
Farr also gave up his right to appeal the conviction, based on potentially questionable evidence from the Nassau crime lab.
