HUNTINGTON - With the holidays over and the new year here, many Long Islanders are resolving to do something new for 2012.

Many had popular resolutions like losing weight or eating healthy, and some even got a quick start, hitting the gym immediately.

For others, they resolved to save more money, read more books or learn how to play a new instrument.

A few didn't make a resolution, saying they never manage to keep them. They might be the smartest of them all; a Texas newspaper cites a statistic that says only 10 percent of resolutions made are actually kept all year.
