WOODBURY - Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano pleaded to residents tonight to obey the mandatory evacuation orders along the flood-prone South Shore and North Shore areas.

The areas include south of Sunrise Highway from the Queens line to Rockville Centre, and south of Merrick Road, from Rockville Centre to the Nassau-Suffolk border.

Mangano also stated that police and the National Guard would be out in force to protect neighborhoods under evacuations from looters. The county executive said that surveillance cameras were put in place today as a deterrent for looters.
