OYSTER BAY - As the afternoon progresses, wind gusts are picking up and roadways are becoming increasingly flooded. "If you live in a storm surge zone, now is the time to leave," Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said today. The more flooded the roadways become, the harder it will be to evacuate. The National Weather Service says Bayville's high tide will be bigger than the 1992 storm, according to Mangano. Mangano also said residents who have been asked to evacuate and don't are putting first responders' lives at risk.LI Hurricane Preparedness ResourcesLI Weather CenterNews 12 LI Hurricane Sandy Coverage
