WOODBURY - Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano has announced that the county is granting amnesty for all camera-issued school speed zone tickets issued so far in Nassau.

Anyone who has received a ticket no longer has to pay the $80. People who have already paid will be refunded, according to Mangano.

The move comes after reports of problems with the camera rollout involving tickets being issued when school was not in session.

One family says it received 11 tickets in the past week in Bethpage.

Some Long Island residents have said they didn't think the cameras were in effect because it's summer and there is no school.

News 12 has learned there are already cameras in 26 of Nassau's 56 school districts.
