WOODBURY - Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano defended the county?s finances during an interview on Fox Business News last night.

Mangano said there is no need for the state agency NIFA to take control of Nassau?s purse strings.

The interview comes just days before a showdown in court with the state watchdog panel.

NIFA took control of Nassau?s finances late last month saying Mangano?s budget is not balanced.

The county executive has filed suit against the state agency to stop the takeover. A hearing on the issue is scheduled for Friday.
