INWOOD - Police say a man was shot by police outside a house party in Inwood.

Police received a call about gun shots on Henry Street in Five Towns early yesterday morning.

While investigating, police confronted a couple on Mott Avenue and West End Avenue who they believe had been at the party.

Police say the man fought with officers and was shot and injured by police.

The man and three police officers were taken to the hospital. The woman was not hurt.

Meanwhile, a second man, Dwight Stephenson, of Far Rockaway, was arrested near the scene with a handgun and rifle.
